Some things cannot exactly be said.

I've just finished reading a book called the Little Princess lately and i think that the heroine's attitude towards the trials in her life is inspiring. Living in China has opened up my world to many more wonders... as well as witnessing other people's living habits. Dinner with others made me see how important etiquette is, from the way you hold your chopsticks, to where you sit, the way you eat, the way you walk... Our hosts are kind enough to not to critique our ignorance, but past experience with etiquette has allowed me to see all these. Some people might think it is not significant at the moment, but it soon will matter no matter how naggy i may sound...

finally! i can get into blogger!

It's been great here in ShiJiaZhuang.... the people have been great... the food alright... you can't exactly ask for the same stuff you get in Singapore, can you...

Daily highlights here...

Day One 12th Sept

Arrived in Beijing at 7plus am then got on the bus for a rough six hour ride to Shi Jia Zhuang in Hebei... Lunch at a eatery (can't really say if its a restaurant) but didn't eat much because i was still tired from the trip... Second last group to be dropped off at our school (IT and Management)... hostel was great, had TV and sofa and air conditioning... then went for welcome dinner at Hui Yuan with the rest and the education officials... still not much appetite yet though the food was great... The leftovers looked enough to feed a poor village.... felt quite bad...

Day Two

Woke up at 6plus and breakfast was at 7.30am... not too used to the food cuz they served veggies and rice for breakfast, and soup! the kind you get at the mixed rice stalls in Singapore... and in gigantic portions too... went to observe a few classes and then went to apply for a sim card... dinner was in gigantic portions again... Slept super early too... 8plus 9plus ok...

Day Three

Same early morning, went to observe a few more classes and met my year 2 classes too... Oh and the first years came back from their military training with the troops and performed blanket folding... cool.... the blankets were super straight and neat... Mrs Lim came to see our living conditions and stuff then we went out for dinner again at some restaurant called Shi Shen Lou or something... Food was great although still not accustomed to it yet... Had red wine, chinese white wine (tasted like vodka) and soy bean milk.... weird combination... now i truly understand why you need to eat before you drink alcohol...

Day Four

Girls day! Shopping at the town centre where there were loads of malls... Bought black patent heels and gold sneakers (bling ok... now i have one item of my bling get up...hehe... ) audrey and huiyu bought the gold sneakers too... bought an electronic dictionary too... finally another wish fulfilled... Bought stuff for people back home too... shopped for the whole day man... 9am to 8pm... Hahaha...

Day Five
Went hiking on Cang Yan Shan... The place where they filmed Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon... Route was perilous some parts cuz the soil was loose but the locals were super... they just went up without having to hold on to anything... got carved stones for some people back home too... Took the cable car down and the view would have been abfab if not for the haze... Overly excited i was... and was giggling all the way and screaming... hahaha... was with huiyu and she didn't bother about me and was taking photos...

Day Six
Woke up earlier and went to participate in the school's flag raising... It's been ages since i last participated in any flag raising... anyway... had my first few classes which was mostly boys... interesting reaction when i told them i was their age... haha... guess their mindset is different... found nothing much to do here actually and the internet connection here is really bad...

Day Seven
Same just that i met a new class of first year early childhood students...

Day Eight
Met another new class and went to buy books... forgot to buy Harry Potter 7... $28+here i calculated... but i bought the little princess, cha hua nv (forgot the english title), a chinese book (forgot the title too...), super junior book and corner with love book for my sister...

Today!
Nothing yet... Only one period of lesson today... then going somewhere to slack or something... maybe go for melinda's class... need to do the picc blog and powerpoint presentation for the school... they want more info about Singapore...

PS. Please email me if you need to get me... i can't read tags here... china banned blogspot or something...

Oh my goodness, i can't believe that i'm going to China next week... so exciting... seen the place where we are going and the place where i'm going to stay... i'm kind of nervous and excited about the trip... i'm not very likely to feel homesick though... but then again, you never know... hehe... I'M SO EXCITED!

by the way, Super Junior's Han Kyung is cute...*swoon* He's chinese... Didn't really notice him till lately... Super Junior has 13 members, way hard to notice when they are in a huge group and he's not always there... fallen in love with the way he speaks chinese... it's so cute... maybe i'll start speaking like that when i come back from china... hahaha... Has he has a model's aura...heehee...

another adventure draws close... am going to china soon, provided i don't fail bmr (where i'm hanging on by the skin of my teeth)...

a few questions though...
for all of you whom i am friends with out there... do you really know who i am? do you really know what i think about you? do i really know you?
the thing is, we are to people only how much we let on. those who can see through the facade are true friends. but with me, it's difficult. change happens to me all the time... i may usually do a certain thing a particular way, but that doesn't mean that i won't do it in a different way... the decision to change usually happens within a split second...

anyway, here's a list of asian tv dramas to watch:
1. Ichi Rittoru No Namida (1litre of tears)
2. Itazura Na Kiss (It Started with A Kiss JP)
3. Hana Yori Dango 1&2 (Boys over Flowers/Meteor Garden)
4. Sweet 18
5. Since We Met
6. My Love Patzzi
8. E Zuo Ju Zhi Wen (It Started With a Kiss TW)
9. Tokyo Juliet
10. Love Contract

Here's the list of those i want to watch but have yet to/waiting:
Cloud Stairs
Smile Again
E Zuo Ju 2 Wen (It Started With a Kiss 2 TW)
Hanazakarino Kimitachihe (JP versh)
Bull Fighting ( the title sounds better in chinese...)

I think there are more... just can't remember...

Fun, fun day... watched two movies in a day... Hairspray and Ratatouille...
Hairspray: there's quality in the music and casting, but not enough to hold an audience's attention. there were instances where i actually felt bored. High point: the female lead is called tracy, and link sings 'i wanna kiss you' to her... it's a high point for tracy tham, cue faint for effie, me, samuel and kenneth...
Ratatouille: Cute rodent+ klutzy guy+ skinny food critic x good script= funny! worth watching cuz it is really cute and is a good laugh...
reached home at almost 1am and its been a pretty long day... blog more soon... good night...

i promise, this will be the last post for today... was supposed to go for a bbq but decided not to cuz audrey's not going... neither are the rest of my 'kakis'... sigh...
and due to boredom... i found this...

1. Someone knocks on your door at 2am,who do you want it to be?
someone who will give me lots of money OR a perfect guy who wants to marry me... or else i'll smack whoever it is for waking me up in the middle of the bloody night... if i am already sleeping at 2am means i'm damn tired, understand?

2. Your boss tells you he/she will give you a $20 raise if you'll do your job naked, do you stay and take the raise?
yeah, i will. but seriously, he'll be more likely to pay me to keep my clothes on. HAHA!

3. Put yourself in a nutshell.
what? i won't fit! HAHA. it's hard to describe myself briefly though... i like to think i'm complex...

4. Ever seen a ghost?
er... i'm not sure...

5. Happy with your body?
no, but i'm not particularly anal about it either...

6. something about you?
Schizophrenia runs in my family...*grins sinisterly*

7. A place you wanna visit?
Lots, man... but at the moment it's a tie between japan and taiwan...

8. A job you would Never do, no matter how much you were paid ?
prostitution. drugs. the like...

9. a band/group you thought was cool when you were 13?
5566. they've kind of run out of steam already... pity...

10.you have a nightmare, who's the first person you think to call?
no one. cuz i'll be laughing at myself for having such a dream... oh, and analysing it...

11.wanna have kids before you're 30?
yeah. love kids.

12.a memory from sec school.
performances in choir.

13.ever had a crush on a friend's parent?
nah. i have i have a boundary of 10 years, so unless the dad had his kid at 10, that would never be possible. the record of the youngest father so far is 12 years old.

14.do you look more like your mom or dad?
mostly like father, nose definitely like mother's... hair like mother's too...

15.something you've always wanted to learn to do.
release an album and be horribly rich and famous then go into seclusion and let the world think/wonder if i'm dead... like elvis... HA!

16.how you'd like your life to be in 10 years?
i'll be 28. so it would be good job. married. kids.
but it seems to be uncool to want to have kids... hmmm... whatever...

17.something you learned this year.
tolerance is a virtue.

18.what do you want for your birthday?
erm, money... yeah, i'm a money-face but it's practical... otherwise a nice gift from the heart will be fine...

19.name 4 things u did ystday.
work, sleep, downloaded phone skins (like shopping like that...), floated around the house (i don't lounge, i pretend i'm a ghost...my parents think i'm crazy and just ignore me...)

20.last item you bought yourself.
strapya phone straps. 2 death note ones and one pink leather strap with a pocket where you can spray on perfume and it will smell nice! i actually bought it online a long time ago, but it only arrived on wednesday...

it's hard to be myself sometimes, especially when there are alot of mes around. Should i be the shy, quiet girl i was in secondary school, the smiley, calm girl i am at work, or the friendly, off her rockers girl in poly?
It has been said that i am very different at work and at school, and i know it. Yet it has also been said that i'm very upfront with my thoughts and personality. But everyone has their secrets, me included. Perhaps i have more secrets than you think i have. It gets awkward when people from the different 'worlds' in my life meet, or when i have to meet someone from my past. I've changed leaps and bounds, and i'm not sure if you can take the change in me, so i force myself to remember what i must have been like to you. i used to be shy and quiet, but now that only takes up 10% of me, i dare to speak now, i'm much more outgoing than you are now. In fact, i have matured more than any of you. While you still live in your world of matchmaking classmates just because they sat together just once during recess, and rant on and on about it for 2 years after graduation, i am living in a simulated real world, doing what it takes to secure a better job, working so that i can keep uo with my lifestyle and committments. you guys don't know how good you're getting it. i have humungous problems with my parents, i have a love-hate relationship with them, but so does everyone else. There is no need to think that the world is crumbling down over a reasonable curfew or a self-image problem. when one can spend $100 without thinking if there's still enough to pay the utility bills, that is very lucky already. But i've noticed that it's unbelievable what a structured lifestyle of just studying and moving in the same social circles can do to you. it becomes hard to leave that juvenile state of mind no matter how knowledgeable of chemistry and physics one is. that is not a practical skill that you can live on to survive and make money with. and the best thing is, some don't even know what they want to do and don't try out anything at all. the attitude is attrocious. at least i know i want to me in the media industry and i'm learning stuff that will help me break into it. even my sister knows she wants to be a nurse. and those supposedly smarter people with better grades out there don't even know what they want. gosh. i'm irritated. kthxbai.

Information

Unhappiness in relationships, according to Dr. Gary Chapman, is often due to the fact that we speak different love languages. Sometimes we don't understand our partner's requirements, or even our own. We all have a "love tank" that needs to be filled in order for us to express love to others, but there are different means by which our tank can be filled, and there are different ways that we can express love to others.
