I haven't been writing all that often, which means that I have been busier since my last post... And i'm happy about it... At least I'm not wasting time moping about the office, which is a serious waste of time and allowing my brain cells to die without being sufficiently used... Well, colleagues have been sorting out stuff in the office and guess what? There is a humungous, absolutely disgusting termite (or some other yucky bug) nest in the store room! It makes me squirm... eew... so i'm trying not to go anywhere near there anytime soon...

I've been listening to Class 95's Morning Express on my way to work recently and Glenn and the FD have been talking about Singaporeans' good and bad habits. Since i started my internship, i have been subject to long bus rides and being out in public for longer periods of time, and i have noticed some really annoying ones lately too... I'm not really complaining, but these are more of my observations...

1. Ah peks spitting in the bus. IN THE BUS! for crying out loud! RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME on the bus floor! and the uncle just swiped his disgusting spittle with his ah pek flip flops! I couldn't say anything because i was too shocked at what he did. I turned my head a little and saw another commuter staring, or rather glaring, at the uncle! the uncle got off a few stops later and a lady came to take his seat, unknowingly stepping on where the spit had just been! i took all of this in but still, it was hard to swallow...

2. People littering. I was going home late after staying for a broadcast, waiting for my bus at the Tai Seng/Paya Lebar area, and here come these two foreign workers (i assume) with drink cans in hand. They stop a distance away from the bus stop (where i was at) and apparently finished their drinks and just threw it on to the ground (there were these barrier things where they LITTERED, cuz there was some road work being done). The thing i must highlight is, they were just a few metres away from the bus stop. And what does a bus stop have? Oh right, A RUBBISH BIN!

3. Queues. This one is minor, but still a problem. At the bus interchange, there are barriers and stuff that indicate that this is where you must queue if you want to take this particular bus. But some people just don't bother to go in and queue. Instead, they wait where the bus is going to pick the passengers up. What i don't get is, they will wait for everyone in the proper queue to get up the bus before going up themselves (which is nice, and right of them cuz they aren't in the proper queue) and if it is crowded they don't get a seat, but they came before those who are in the queue, so they may as well have queued and got a seat, right?

4. In buses (or public transport). A few problems here.
I try to move to the back if the bus is crowded. But some people just block the way in and people coming in front just get squashed or aren't able to get up the bus.
I usually fall asleep on the bus as it is a long ride to and from work. Someone comes and sits beside me. He/she has a huge bag. Jabs me with it. Once is fine, probably just a coincidence. But this has happened too many times. Can't people just be careful with their bags?
Noisy people or screaming kids. You don't have to let the whole world know what you talking about. Kids should learn to know when shut up. I love kids, but screaming is a no no in public. I have taught my baby cousins (ok, they are not babies anymore) to behave themselves in public, sometimes with a little reward. If i, a 18/19-year-old can teach kids to behave, parents can too. It is particularly annoying in the early morning and evening when people aren't fully awake yet or are especially tired. I have seen an auntie scream on the phone in chinese at her teenage kid (i assume) to get home before she does in an annoyingly high-pitched voice. Apparently the other party did not inform her about going somewhere else and she probably already prepared dinner, and you know how mothers can get when you don't come home for dinner without telling them. But she didn't have to air her dirty laundry, did she?

That's all i can remember for now, back to editing programmes... Ciao!
